Transformation initiatives

Place Group has a long history in helping shape, and subsequently implement Government policy initiatives to deliver transformational outcomes.

In the education sector specifically, we developed Building Schools for the Future and Learning Environments of the Future exemplars to maximise the school environment to aide teaching and learning – going onto advise twenty local authorities how to design their school estates; we helped devise academy and free school models to meet local educational challenges – then established over 100 new schools for communities across the country; we piloted a schools buying hub to change attitudes and behaviours to procurement – working with over two thousand school business professionals to ensure compliance and save £26m; and developed a feasibility study with alliance partners to accelerate the decarbonisation of schools – creating the model to efficiently meet the government’s net zero targets.
